Ireland’s newest and biggest weekend family festival coming this June

Nathan Carter, one of Ireland’s biggest country stars, has launched the inaugural Funfest family festival which will take place at Tayto Park, Ireland’s only theme park and zoo, in June.

On Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June, a host of entertainers from the worlds of music, circus, family entertainment, dance and art will come together for the Tayto Park Funfest.

Over two days, the exciting new family festival will be the venue for a variety of incredible entertainment, with RTE’s Lucy Kennedy as MC throughout the weekend.

Carter will be a special guest during the Festival on the Sunday evening, while his younger brother Jake will entertain the crowds earlier in the day.

The headliners for Sunday include top Irish band Hudson Taylor with international acts Rak-Su, winners of The X Factor 2017, and the voice of M People, Heather Small topping the bill on Saturday.

Speaking at the launch, Nathan said “I’m delighted to be part of the first Funfest and as well as taking to the stage on Sunday 30th June, I am determined to finally experience the world renowned Cú Chulainn rollercoaster!”.

Raymond Coyle, founder of Tayto Park says Funfest is the first of its kind across Ireland; “Funfest will not only bring some of Ireland and the world’s most exciting music acts to Tayto Park, but will also provide unlimited access to all Park attractions, rides and zoo as well as a host of family entertainment, street food and performers, turning Tayto Park into a top festival venue this summer.

“We have worked hard to ensure there’s something for everyone, and at just over 1hr and 30 minutes outside Belfast, it is a great excuse for a road trip to experience an exciting weekend of rollercoasters, music and family fun.”
