M&S staff from all 19 stores in Northern Ireland and on the Isle of Man are bringing ‘Magic & Sparkle’ to local children who would otherwise wake up to nothing on Christmas morning.

Every member of staff was asked to donate one gift and the results were fantastic with over 1200 gifts donated to 19 local charities over a seven day period.

Ryan Lemon, M&S Head of Region said: “With the good will of Christmas in mind it is important to think of others less fortunate than ourselves and I’m delighted that all the M&S staff have really got behind our Christmas Toy Appeal and donated generously.

“Magic and Sparkle, the Two Fairies from M&S, have been carrying out acts of kindness across the country in the run up to Christmas and our store staff wanted to do the same.  By reaching out to their local communities, the staff will have helped make Christmas for over 1200 local children who may not otherwise receive a gift from Santa.

“Each store chose their recipient charity and in Two Fairies style, kept it a secret until the very last minute to make the most of the surprise.”

Tina Bradley from St Vincent de Paul, one of the recipient charities, said: “We are absolutely thrilled and so grateful to the staff from M&S for their very generous donation.  This has been the biggest contribution from any business in my 21 years working with St Vincent de Paul and has enabled us to fulfil the needs of all our children this Christmas.”
