On Sunday the 9th of June, 13 ladies from across Belfast will battle it out for the Miss Great Britain Belfast 2024 title.
Miss Great Britain is the oldest and most prestigious pageant in the UK and welcomes women from all backgrounds. With no restrictions on age, background, marital and parental status, it’s fast becoming the most modern-day pageant in the UK. Director of Miss GB Belfast Lizzy Doherty is extremely excited to bring the first ever heat to the city and to allow more girls from NI to have the opportunity to take to the national stage.
Before the event, each of the girls have invested their time and effort into supporting the two nominated charities, promoting the sponsors, working in their communities and on their passions as well as helping to build the brand of Miss Great Britain Belfast. Before the big reveal, the 13 hopefuls will take part in a one-to-one judges interview, dazzling fashion wear, swimwear and evening wear round for their last chance to impress the judging panel.
The judging panel consists of 6 professionals from various industries and all extremely reputable within their field. This year’s judges are: Sally-Ann Fawcett (Head Judge & Pageant Historian), Eden McAllister (Former Miss Belfast & Miss Great Britain 2021), Madeleine Wahdan (Reigning Miss Great Britain), Aryana Neo (Former Mrs Galaxy UK & Presenter), Alan Wallace (Founder of Inspiring Belfast) & Katharine Walker (Former Miss Northern Ireland, Former Miss Universe Ireland & Cool FM Presenter).
This year, Miss Great Britain Belfast has chosen to support Leicester-based charity Alex’s Wish, Curing Duchenne, and nationwide charity Cancer Research UK. Hosting this year’s event is Gemma Garrett (Former Miss Great Britain 2008) with DJ Chris Suitor providing the music all night.
The winner of Miss Great Britain Belfast will receive an abundance of exciting prizes, including an all expenses paid trip to compete in the National Final in October, a £250 cash prize, a Gemstone Universe pendant worth over £1000, a dress from Sassy By The Sea and much more.
The Miss Belfast final will take place on Sunday the 9th of June at The Merchant Hotel Belfast. Tickets sold-out in just over an hour to the event so it is set to be a night to remember.
The National Final of the Miss Great Britain competition will then take place on Friday 18th October at the Athena in Leicester.
