THE Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) has launched an exciting new marketing campaign to encourage residents of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to book a great value autumn break in Northern Ireland.
The campaign will appear on television, radio, press, online and outdoor media with promotional activity until mid December and aims to boost tourist numbers and visitor spend over the coming months by focusing on what motivates a variety of people to book a short break.
The campaign design is based on the results of NITB’s market research which highlighted a number of unique visitor segments in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland including families, couples and those whose children have flown the nest.
By highlighting tourist attractions, festivals, events, activities and accommodation offers, NITB’s Destination PR and Marketing manager Ruth Burns believes that the new campaign will encourage more people to book a great value short break in Northern Ireland.
“Our new autumn campaign is designed to encourage everyone from the young to the young at heart and couples to families to explore what Northern Ireland has to offer and book a short break somewhere close to home,” said Ruth.
“Getting around Northern Ireland couldn’t be easier with everything in close proximity. You can travel anywhere in less than two hours which means less stress and hassle, not to mention more time to enjoy your short break.
“With mid-term upon us there is so much on offer for families and our TV ad highlights all of the fun family memories you can create with visits to Titanic Belfast, Belfast Zoo and many other attractions.
“For our more mature visitors we’ve focused on a number of experiences in the campaign which make the perfect autumn getaway such as a short break to the world famous Causeway Coastal route including a visit to the historic Bushmills Distillery,” she continued.
“We’ve also highlighted opportunities for couples to get away from it all and spend time together in Fermanagh and the Causeway Coastal route.
“Furthermore, there are a number of fantastic events taking place over the next few months to keep everyone entertained, including Belfast Music Week, the inaugural Festival of Light at Mount Stewart in Co. Down and of course the Halloween celebrations in various parts of the country including Derry~Londonderry.
“Also in Derry~Londonderry, the Turner Prize will be hosted in the city for the first time outside of England. Lumiere will transform all familiar buildings and landmarks with artworks made from light. Two fantastic events concluding an incredible year for the UK’s City of Culture,” Ruth added.
“A short break at home also offers great value for money which we appreciate is more important than ever in the current economic climate. Our website has a huge range of accommodation offers with prices for a one night B&B starting from just £45 per person sharing,” concluded Ruth.
NITB’s website discovernorthernireland.com contains information and details on a wide range of attractions and events with lots of special short-break offers at hotels, guest houses and self-catering accommodation around Northern Ireland with prices starting at £45 per person sharing for one night’s bed and breakfast.
