Belfast boxing fans, get ready — The Croc is coming home.
Lewis Crocker is officially set to return to the Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park next spring for a voluntary defence of his IBF world welterweight title. The news has sent a surge of excitement through the local fight scene, which witnessed Crocker’s electrifying split-decision win over Paddy Donovan back in September.
That sell-out showdown not only crowned Crocker as champion — it also marked the long-awaited return of professional boxing to the iconic stadium for the first time since Carl Frampton’s unforgettable victory over Luke Jackson in 2018.
A Spring Showdown: April 11 on the Horizon
It is understood that Crocker’s next title defence is pencilled in for 11 April, with confirmation of his opponent expected in the coming weeks.
The undefeated Belfast star (22-0) has made no secret of the fact he wants the big names — and the biggest nights.
He has repeatedly called for a clash with Conor Benn, whose dominant win over Chris Eubank Jr at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium reignited talk of a blockbuster bout. Crocker’s manager, Jamie Conlan, also name-dropped WBC champion Mario Barrios as another exciting potential opponent during a BBC Sport NI interview.
But the path to those mega-fights won’t be simple. Benn brushed off the idea earlier this week, telling Boxing News that Crocker “is not really a name that is on my radar.”
A cold response — but one that could fuel Crocker even further.
What Comes Next?
If Crocker gets the job done in April at the Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park, fans could expect another huge night in late summer. With the momentum behind him and the stadium atmosphere unmatched, he’s on the verge of becoming one of Belfast’s biggest modern boxing stars.
For now, all eyes are on April — and on who dares to step into the ring with the unbeaten IBF world champion in front of a roaring home crowd.
Stay tuned, fight fans. The Croc is ready to bite again. 🥊💥
