With the first Saturday in the new year being nicknamed ‘Sunshine Saturday’, Jet2holidays is expecting a surge in bookings for its award-winning getaways this weekend.

On what is typically one of the most popular days of the year to book a holiday, the UK’s largest tour operator is preparing for a rush in bookings, with its contact centre fully staffed.

Jet2holidays is anticipating strong demand for Summer 25, as well as further out for both Winter 25/26 and Summer 26. With holidays still available for this winter, the package holiday specialist is also reporting that customers are likely to book last minute getaways for January, February and March, as people look to escape the cold UK weather.

The destinations expected to prove most popular include the Canaries, Balearics, Mainland Spain, Greece, Cyprus and Turkey. Other sunshine favourites such as Italy, Malta, Croatia, France, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Morocco and Portugal are also anticipated to see strong growth. City break destinations such as Athens, Porto,Krakow, Rome, Prague, Budapest and Barcelona are predicted to be popular, as are flights to ski destinations such as Geneva, Grenoble, Verona and Salzburg.

To help customers get away for less, the tour operator has launched a promotion giving customers £90 per person off all holidays that depart from now until 15th November 2026. Jet2holidays has also announced that customers with a myJet2account can access an even bigger saving – with a whopping £100 off per person on all holidays. To take advantage of this saving, customers can sign up quickly and easily for a myJet2 account at www.jet2holidays.com/myjet2

The unmissable offer means that a couple can save £180 (£200 off for myJet2 members) and a family of four can save £360 (£400 off for myJet2 members) when booking a holiday. On top of this, Jet2holidays also has millions of Free Child Place Holidays available, which are combinable with this offer.

With millions of Free Child Place Holidays still available across all seasons during the school holidays, families can look to save and benefit from this as well.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Sunshine Saturday has always been a busy day for holiday bookings, with people swapping the cold and wet UK for some much-needed sunshine in droves. We are expecting this to be the case again this year, and we are ready for a surge in bookings over the weekend. For anyone thinking about booking, we would urge them to act now as the best rooms, best hotels and best destinations are being snapped up fast. With a huge choice of destinations on sale, on top of our industry-leading customer service, this Sunshine Saturday is shaping up to be a fantastic one for Jet2holidays.”
