Jenn Grant is set to be joined by acclaimed pop singer-songwriter Hannah Georgas on her upcoming UK and Ireland tour.
Since her debut, the fellow Canadian musican, Georgas, has won numerous awards and racked up multiple nominations. Hannah’s has previously joined City and Colour on his European tour and shared stages with the likes of Sara Bareilles and Kathleen Edwards, playing everywhere from Madison Square Garden to the LA Greek Theatre. Hannahs’ music has also been featured on HBO Girl’s. Her current album, For Evelyn, was described by The Telegraph (UK) evoiking “the idiosyncratic indie of Feist.”
Jenn Grant is touring Ireland & UK in support of her brand new album, ‘Paradise’, released 3rd March the album was the third highest selling streamed new album in Canada this week. Paradise is the follow up to 2014’s Compostela which earned Grant two Juno nominations in her native Canada — for both Songwriter as well as Contemporary Album of the Year. Grant and husband, producer Daniel Ledwell, took a year in their home studio to craft ‘Paradise’. Compostela, was written after the loss of her mother and whereas that record was “of the stars” and based on her own personal experience of loss, ‘Paradise’ points the compass towards the epic and intimate. It marks her most adventurous and deliberate work she’s ever done.
The two years of crafting and shaping, interrupted occasionally by the journeys of a busy touring musician on the road, gives ‘Paradise’ a new dimension of sonic beauty and melodic landscapes that touches upon balladry, R&B and Electronic music along the way. Grant notes, “I also thought about my singing much more. I feel like I am a completely different artist from when I began performing. I don’t feel like I really heard my own voice until recently.”
