The new store at Longwood Retail Park, will create 18 new jobs in the area, following over 100 applications for a variety of roles.
On Saturday 2nd November, the new Newtownabbey store will be opened by store colleagues with a customary ribbon cutting. The first 100 customers in store will also receive a free goody bag.
Hobbycraft Newtownabbey will have the best crafting experts on hand to help customers develop their artistic skills in a creative environment. A few members of the crafting team include: knitting and crochet expert Anne who is a dab hand with a sewing machine, papercraft expert Irene who specialises in Cricut, Anne who’s a great baker and Irene who specialises in cross stitch.
Hobbycraft also introduces Belfast to revolutionary digital craft techniques with the dedicated ‘Custom Crafting’ area in store, a new inspirational crafting area that is designed to inspire shoppers as well as encourage them to try out products and crafting techniques.
As the personalisation phenomenon continues, with Hobbycraft seeing over 10,000 searches per month of the term ‘personalisation’, this new area will have a specific focus on products that support the trend. A main area of focus will be on digital cutting and includes Cricut Machines, tools and vinyl products.
The Cricut machines allow users to precisely cut, write and score, and can be used with a wide range of materials (from paper to leather, balsa wood to cotton fabric) making them the perfect partner for any avid crafter. The Cricut machines are used in conjunction with Cricut’s free Design Space app, which features thousands of ready to make projects to choose from, as well as enabling users the ability to upload and create their very own designs.
Store manager Ellis comments: “We’re really looking forward to opening the doors to our Belfast store and share our passion for arts and crafts with the community. We’ve been working really hard to ensure that the store will be packed full of the most exciting crafting products, which will help our customers create handmade masterpieces. Our new colleagues are all dedicated crafters and are ready to inspire and share their knowledge with locals of all crafting abilities.”
