~50 new jobs to be created at 45-bedroom property~
The Beannchor Group has today opened its new £4 million development at Lisburn Square, Haslem Hotel, creating 50 new jobs.
Haslem, which is described as a casual and relaxed, no fuss hotel, features 45 stylish bedrooms, an 80-seater open plan lobby and bar area, a 68-seater restaurant, residents’ gym, and conference room.
Targeted at business travellers from the Republic of Ireland and United Kingdom, as well as Lisburn locals, Haslem’s contemporary art paired with a neutral colour scheme epitomises a modern, urban style, reflecting the needs of these visitors.
The hotel’s restaurant, Haslem Kitchen, offers an all-day food menu, from delicious breakfast and lunch options to sizzling steaks and flame-roasted rotisserie chicken dishes for evening dining. Each dish has been carefully created by Patrick Leonard, executive head chef of Haslem’s sister venue, The Merchant Hotel, and showcases locally sourced ingredients from several locally-based producers including; Carnreagh Cottage Farm, Draynes Farm, Begney Hill Pork, Mourne Lamb, Craft Tea Brewing Company and Freebird Tea.
In addition, residents and non-residents can choose from an extensive drinks menu for both Haslem Kitchen and the lobby bar, ranging from delectable wines and cocktails to the best of Irish gin serves and local beers.
Commenting on the opening of Haslem, Conall Wolsey, director, Beannchor, said:
“Despite the ongoing challenges that 2020 has brought – and may continue to bring – we are delighted we’ve been able to move our latest project forward to completion and create 50 full and part time roles at a time when hospitality jobs are scarce.
“Haslem is an entirely new concept for Beannchor but we are confident that the demand is there; for locals who are seeking out a place to come and socialise, and for tourists travelling for business and leisure from UK and ROI.”
Nicky McCollum, development director of Lisburn Square added:
“We are pleased to see Haslem open its doors today and we have no doubt that the hotel’s arrival will significantly enhance the Square and really boost the city’s day and night time economy.
“We have been working hard since 2015 to reposition the city as a destination and with the arrival of Haslem, we can begin to attract visitors from further afield, positioning Lisburn as an emerging hub between Belfast and Dublin.”
The Beannchor Group is Northern Ireland’s largest hospitality group. Its portfolio includes The Merchant Hotel, Belfast; Bullitt Hotel and The Dirty Onion in Belfast; The Hillside in Hillsborough and eight Little Wing Pizzerias in locations across Northern Ireland including Lisburn Square.
