THREE AND EASY AS GIANTS ROAR PAST FLAMES IN GUILDFORD
The Stena Line Belfast Giants blazed a path back to victory on Saturday night with a powerful 3-1 triumph over the Guildford Flames. A three-goal blitz in the opening period set the tone, and netminder Tom McCollum’s stellar 31 saves solidified the win at the Spectrum Centre.
🔥 First Period Fireworks 🔥
The Giants came out strong, and it was clear they meant business. A flurry of goals in the final minutes of the first period stunned the Flames, with Pierre-Olivier Morin opening the scoring on a powerplay, followed quickly by Elijah Barriga’s fortunate deflection for the second. Grant Mismash capped the dominant period, rocketing a wrist shot that slipped past Jake Kupsky to make it 3-0.

Second Period Sparks
Guildford responded in the second, with Charlie Dodero slipping one past McCollum to close the gap. The Giants, however, held firm. Mismash nearly restored the three-goal cushion, firing off dangerous chances and keeping Kupsky busy.
Defensive Brilliance in the Third
With Guildford pressing hard in the final period, McCollum anchored a tenacious Giants defense, making key saves that kept the Flames in check. The home side’s last-ditch powerplay was no match for the Giants’ wall of blockers and McCollum’s quick reflexes. Even with Kupsky pulled, Guildford couldn’t find the spark to threaten the Giants’ hard-earned lead.
Up Next
The Giants continue their Elite League journey on Sunday, heading to Coventry to face the Blaze, before returning to home ice to battle the Glasgow Clan in the Challenge Cup on Wednesday.
