Disney has announced it will extend one of Pixar’s most successful film franchises with the release of Toy Story 4 in 2017.
Original director John Lasseter will take the helm for Toy Story 4 after executive producing the third instalment.
Disney chief executive Bob Iger confirmed the planned release, which comes four years after Toy Story 3 hit cinema screens, on an earnings call and said John Lasseter would return as director. “John created Toy Story and directed its first two films and it’s great to have him back directing one of our most valuable properties.”
