Chelsea FC have added another chapter to their European legacy, coming from behind to defeat Real Betis 4-1 in the UEFA Conference League Final and becoming the first club to win all five major UEFA competitions.
Trailing with just 25 minutes left in Wroclaw, the Blues flipped the script thanks to a sensational performance from Cole Palmer, who assisted twice in quick succession. First, he delivered a perfect inswinging cross for Enzo Fernandez to head home the equaliser, before finding Nicolas Jackson, who forced the ball over the line at the near post.
From there, Chelsea turned on the style. Jadon Sancho, on loan from Manchester United, added a composed curling finish after a fine pass from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, while Moises Caicedo sealed the result in stoppage time with a deflected long-range strike.
🔵 European Clean Sweep Completed
With this victory, Chelsea become the only team to win the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, UEFA Super Cup, and the now-defunct Cup Winners’ Cup – completing a historic clean sweep of all UEFA club trophies.
Not only that, but the result also ended a 27-match winning streak for Spanish clubs in European or international finals involving La Liga teams – a run dating back to 2002.

🔄 Second-Half Turnaround for Maresca’s Men
For Enzo Maresca, it was a bold decision to name a strong starting XI, keeping six players from their Premier League win over Nottingham Forest. It proved to be the right call after a shaky first half where Betis dominated and deservedly took the lead through Abde Ezzalzouli, who finished superbly from a sublime Isco pass.
Chelsea were second-best in the opening 45 minutes but found a new gear after the break. A tactical switch saw Reece James replace Malo Gusto at right-back, giving the Blues more balance and control. From that moment, Chelsea never looked back.
Palmer, a breakout star of the season who wasn’t even registered for the group stages, played a decisive role in the turnaround, picking up two key assists and influencing the game throughout.
🏆 Maresca’s First Trophy & Club World Cup Awaits
The win marks Chelsea’s first piece of silverware since the Club World Cup in 2022 and ends the season on a high for Maresca, who has also guided his side back into the Champions League next season.
Attention now turns to the FIFA Club World Cup, where Chelsea will represent Europe in the tournament set to take place in the United States this June.
💔 Heartbreak for Real Betis
This was a historic occasion for Real Betis, who were playing in their first-ever European final. They started brightly, with chances falling to Antony, Marc Bartra, and Johnny Cardoso, but failed to capitalise on their first-half dominance.
Despite the early goal and classy moments from veterans like Isco, Betis couldn’t hold off Chelsea’s second-half onslaught. The emotional scenes at full-time showed just how much the night meant to them.
