NI Students’ Artwork is Virtually Incredible
Thousands of art and design lovers around the world have been enjoying the best of Northern Ireland’s students’ talent at CCEA’s virtual True Colours Exhibition.
The 3D exhibition, which can be visited at www.ccea.org.uk/truecolours, has been modelled on one of the Ulster Museum’s prestigious galleries and showcases work from Art & Design students in a fully virtual setting.
As well as providing a valuable teaching resource for schools and inspiration for students, this virtual art and design exhibition has allowed global visitors to tour and interact with displays by Northern Ireland’s Entry Level, GCSE, AS and A level students.
In total, it displays work from 40 students from 32 schools from across the country, highlighting a variety of mediums such as fine art paintings, sculpture and multimedia.
CCEA’s Chief Executive, Gerry Campbell, said: “With the advancement of technology, digital art exhibitions have become increasingly popular and CCEA is proud to be at the forefront of using this technology for our True Colours exhibition. Through the digital canvas, we can invite audiences from every corner of the globe to explore, engage, and be inspired by the outstanding work produced by CCEA’s students here in Northern Ireland. The work is exceptional.”
CCEA’s Education Manager for Art & Design, Anne McGinn, commented:
“The standard of the work produced by our students is truly inspirational and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of not only the students but also their teachers. Work like this does not just happen, it is a talent that should be recognised and encouraged. We are honoured and delighted to be able to provide our art students with a platform which highlights their amazing talent and skills.”
