As part of its, There’s a BOOST for That campaign, BOOST Sport has been named as the official Hydration Partner of the Antrim Coast Half Marathon which is due to take place on August 25th.

And following a NI-wide search, BOOST isotonic Sports drink has recruited two beginner runners to join influencer and running fan, Abbie Parkinson, to run a leg of the Antrim Coast Half Marathon.

The chosen two are Josh Daykin, 20, from Belfast and Mags Freeburn, 45, from Belleek, County Fermanagh.

Josh was chosen as he hasn’t really done lots of running before so he feels ready to get onto the roads and start racing. Mags was a runner for many years but following an injury she had to stop but she’s feeling fit again and wants to get back on the treadmill.

Both Josh and Mags will get lots of encouragement from Abbie and from BOOST to help kick start their individual running journeys once again. Not only that, but 5-time Olympian and running legend, Jo Pavey is on board to give the recruits some expert advice via a video call, just before the Antrim Coast Half Marathon kicks off on August 25th.

Abbie and the two recruits will take on the challenge of running a Leg each – Leg 1 is 6.7km, Leg 2 is 6.5km and Leg 3 is 7.9km – and BOOST Sport will be there to give them all the support they need.

We asked Josh some questions about the upcoming Antrim Coast Half Marathon. Look out for Mags Freeburn’s answers next week.

Favourite BOOST Sport flavourMy favourite would be BOOST Sport Orange closely followed by the Watermelon and Lime flavour. However, my daily routine consists of a sugar free can of BOOST on my way home from work!
Most looking forward to Running with the team and spotting my family in the crowd!
Which leg are you running 3rd
How is training goingTraining is going good, it’s been a while since I’ve integrated running into my schedule but I’m glad of it.
Any tips for beginner runnersI’ve realised that it’s not the running or distance that is off putting, it’s the thought of putting on your running gear and getting out the door to do it, that is the hardest part! And on those evenings, when you can’t be bothered just remember there is a BOOST for that.
What’s the first thing you’ll do after the Antrim Coast Half MarathonI think the first thing I’ll do is look for my family and friends as there’s no better feeling than making them proud! Then of course I’ll update the running vlog to let everyone know I survived!

BOOST, whose sports drink range includes Orange, Raspberry and Mango, Mixed Berry, Tropical Berry and the new Limited Edition Watermelon and Lime flavours, are the perfect hydration solution to ensure runners can always perform at their best.
