Recently launched website www.belfastlive.co.uk has picked up the 2015 DANI award for NI Website of the Year at a prestigious Awards ceremony in St. Columb’s Hall Derry on Friday night. The site was also commended in the Social Media – breaking news category.
The website, which is a mix of breaking news, Sport, entertainment and What’s On has amassed a staggering 1,043,431 monthly unique users* and over 43,000 followers on social media since its launch in March of this year. A one-stop shop for everything that’s happening in Belfast – and beyond, Belfast Live has been widely supported by users right across N.Ireland and has been very well received by the local commercial community also. The site beat off stiff competition from the Belfast Telegraph and the Ulster Fry.
Speaking at the Awards ceremony website Editor Chris Sherrard thanked everyone involved in making Belfast Live such a phenomenal success in such a short space of time ….
“Just to be nominated in these categories was a surprise and a great achievement, especially considering we didn’t even exist when the awards were held last year.
We have had a great start since we launched and the reaction of the readers has been fantastic.
This award is testament to the endless hard work put in by the entire Belfast Live team and each and every one of them can feel justifiably proud to have been recognised in this way.”
@BelfastLive @cdsherrard @DANIAwards congrats!
