The Belfast Giants outplayed the Cardiff Devils 8-3 on aggregate to make next weekend’s play-off semi-finals held in Nottingham. Having beaten the Devils 1-0 in the first leg of their quarter-final in Belfast on Friday night, the went up another gear to win 7-3 on the second leg. A frustrating night for the Devils, but the Giants were on fire.
Giants now play Coventry Blaze in the second semi-final on Saturday (5pm), while the first game at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham will be Sheffield Steelers v Hull Stingrays (1pm).
Sheffield booked their place in finals weekend with a 6-5 aggregate victory over Fife Flyers, while Coventry defeated Nottingham Panthers 5-4 over two legs.
Hull Stingrays secured a dramatic overtime victory over Braehead Clan to go through 5-4 on aggregate.
