Belfast 89FM presenter quits live on air

Belfast 89FM presenter Robin Elliott shocked listeners to his Breakfast Show this morning by announcing that he is quitting the station.
The popular presenter who has been with the classic hits station for the three years now made his announcement just after 9am.

Robin, who also hosts a weekly chat show on Belfast TV channel NVTV said it wasn’t easy decision to make but wanted to move on to try other projects.  He said, “I will be sad to leave Belfast 89FM and I just want to thank all the listeners for tuning in over the past few years, I will miss you all”, before playing Andrew Gold’s Thank You For Being A Friend.

Robin Elliott has been broadcasting on Northern Ireland’s airwaves for 25 years now with successful shows on City Beat and Q Radio.  In 2015, Robin spent a year in Tenerife hosting the Afternoon Show on Oasis FM before returning to Belfast and joining Belfast 89FM in 2018.

Robin will present his final show on Belfast 89FM tomorrow (Thursday) from 4pm to 7pm.
