Bangkok Belfast

If First Minister Arlene Foster going to a GAA match isn’t a sign that you should try a new tradition this week then we don’t know what is. So how about a new Thai tradition?

Bangkok Thai, on 51 Adelaide Street is serving up authentic Thai cuisine – and not like you think you know it. Speaking with their restaurant manager Nina, she says ‘A lot of people think that Thai food might be spicy, but it isn’t – we have lots of things on our menu that aren’t spicy but are full of flavour’.

She’s right – trying their Thai sharing platter with deep fried prawns and satay skewers, Beef Massaman Curry and Jasmine Rice and an aptly named Mai Thai, everything is as fresh as it is flavourful with the smoky wok taste distinctive to Thai food.

With coconut and lemongrass prominent throughout the menu, you can be rest-assured that all the dishes feature ingredients native to Thailand – and all are equally expertly used by head chef Peer.

So if you’re up for trying something new and want to take a lunchtime trip to Thailand, Bangkok Thai are offering two courses for £10.95 – and it might just be “the next best thing you do fully dressed and in day light
