With the support of her colleagues at Asda Westwood, Community Champion, Noeleen McMahon, is putting her best foot forward to help patients at The Royal Victoria Hospital.
Noeleen McMahon, Asda Bangor Community Champion, explained:
“When we heard that some of the older patients who were being admitted didn’t have access to the essential items they needed for a hospital stay, I knew this was something we could all pull together to help with – ensuring these items would reach those who needed them the most.
“When my Asda Westwood colleagues heard what I was doing, they got involved as well – helping to donate the most needed items including soap, deodorant, pyjamas and nightwear.
“We are so pleased to have been able to provide this help in the community. There are so many people working tirelessly to make a difference to local people – and it’s never been more important to come together as a community to support each other.”
Stephanie McCafferty, Auxiliary Nurse at Royal Victoria Hospital thanked Asda:
“We want to say a massive thank you to Noeleen, and to Asda Westwood – they too are working hard to provide for people throughout this difficult time.
“This kind donation will be used for the most vulnerable, elderly patients, who don’t have family to bring essential items to them. Through what is already a difficult time and with visitors not being allowed, it is now even more challenging for patients to receive what they need after being admitted.
“Small tokens of generosity can make such a huge difference to just one person’s life. So, we thank everyone for their generosity at this time.”
