Asda Bangor petrol station colleague ‘pumps up’ her customer service skills

Asda Bangor petrol station colleague, Tanya Haire has been commended for going the extra mile for two regular customers at the petrol station. 

Tanya has been working at Asda for the past eight years and has been known to go out of her way to help fellow colleagues and customers in store. She helped a gentleman who lost his wallet and an elderly woman who was in a car accident before pulling into the petrol station.

Tanya said:

“It’s been a busy few weeks in store, I had found a wallet at the car wash and it was filled with a large amount of money, so I took it over to customer service and tried to find out if anyone knew who the customer was. My manager actually knew the customer and said he comes in quite regularly so the next time he came in we made sure to get it back to him. He was so grateful and even sent me a card to thank me!”

Tanya also recently helped an elderly lady who was in distress at the petrol station.

Tanya continued:

“A lady came in and was in distress because she had been followed by a man who claimed she had bumped into his car before coming into the petrol station. She was really shaken and because of her age, I wanted to make sure she was okay.”

“I sat down with her and tried to keep her calm, reassuring her that everything was okay. After a few minutes, she started to calm down and was very grateful for the support.”

“She also mentioned she had a fault in her airbags, and I remembered we had a regular customer who would be able to fix it, so I found him on Facebook and gave her the details.”

“She has been in store three times since and has thanked me every time. It was my pleasure to help her, and I would do it for anyone.”

Asda Bangor Section Leader, Julie Logan, said;

“I was not surprised when I heard Tanya helped two of our regular customers recently. If she notices someone needs help, Tanya is the first to go and offer support. We are very proud of her. Thank you for your outstanding service as always, Tanya!”
