Aircoach has announced a major expansion of its popular 705X route, significantly improving public transport connectivity between (L’)Derry, Belfast, Dublin Airport and Dublin City Centre.
The enhanced service, launching Sunday 25 January, responds directly to growing passenger demand and strengthens cross-border travel options for both leisure and business travellers across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
New Direct Access to Belfast Grand Central Station from Derry
For the first time, passengers travelling from (L’)Derry will be able to travel to and from Belfast Grand Central Station, transforming connectivity between the North West and Belfast city centre.
Previously, Grand Central Station operated as a pick-up only stop for services from Derry. Under the new enhanced 705X timetable, passengers can now board and disembark at the station from three Derry locations:
- Drumahoe Park and Ride
- Foyleside Coach Park
- Maghera
The upgraded service will operate 11 daily services in each direction, offering greater flexibility and convenience for commuters, airport passengers and tourists alike.
Improved Belfast–Dublin Airport Connectivity
In addition to the new Derry–Belfast connections, Aircoach has confirmed additional direct services between Belfast, Dublin Airport and Dublin City Centre, with an extra direct service in each direction added to the timetable.
All existing stops will continue to be served, ensuring no reduction in current services while expanding overall capacity and journey choice.
Convenient Belfast City Centre Pick-Up and Drop-Off
Aircoach services will now operate from Belfast Grand Central Station at:
- Stand 23 from 5:00am to 11:00pm
- Stand 5 from 11:00pm to 5:00am
This central hub provides passengers with easy access to Belfast city centre transport links, retail and onward travel.
New Luxury Fleet Enhances Passenger Experience
Passengers travelling on the enhanced 705X route will also benefit from Aircoach’s new luxury coach fleet, following a £3 million investment in vehicle upgrades.
Onboard features include:
- Reclining leather seats
- High-speed Wi-Fi
- Onboard toilets
- Increased comfort for long-distance travel
