Belfast Jewellers Shines Brightly!
A Belfast jewellers has won the annual award for having the best window display in the city this Christmas.
Steensons, on Bedford Street, has been selected for its stunning winter wonderland design featuring a snow scene, festive trees and reindeer.
The annual event is organised and judged by Belfast City Centre Management in partnership with Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce, and aims to recognise the creativity and flair that goes into the shop windows of the independent stores in the city centre.
Andrew Irvine, Belfast City Centre Manager said: “Our annual window dressing competition is a great fun way of engaging with the many independent retailers in Belfast, and rewarding their hard work and creativity.
“Each year we see such originality and effort which adds a real festive feel to our high street, with many visitors coming in to see the window displays alone.
Paul McMahon, President, Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce continued, “This year the competition was extremely tough, with many stores really going the extra mile and putting a lot of thought, effort and expense into their displays.
“These businesses are the lifeblood of Belfast and are what sets us apart from other European cities.
“We want to thank all of the participants for their contribution in bringing the city to life and creating a really festive feel in Belfast.”
Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Máirtín Ó Muilleoir added: “The shops throughout Belfast look absolutely fantastic this Christmas.
“Retailers have embraced the annual competition with their usual fervour and ensured that our city shines brightly for the shoppers and visitors to our city.
He concluded, “I want to congratulate Steensons for a fantastic window display and the other retailers for their continued hard work.”
Learning Space on College Street has also been ‘Highly Commended’ in the competition.
