If you’ve hired new people to meet the Christmas rush or are planning a recruitment drive for next year, why not set yourself apart from other employers with some branded gifts for new/potential employees?
The most useful branded items to give away at recruitment events or staff orientation are drawstring bags. First off, they can be designed with your company name and logo to heighten brand awareness among potential employees and anyone they come across when using their custom drawstring bags. Secondly, they can also be used to carry all of the essential paperwork that you need to give out. Best of all, you can make sure every brochure, form, printed pen, etc is in the bag before the event, which makes it a lot easier to organise and ensure everyone gets all that they need.
It would, of course, be possible to do this with plastic bags, but when most people get a plastic bag, they recycle it pretty soon afterwards. Drawstring bags, which are stronger than plastic bags, can help promote your company to many people for years to come as the receiver uses them time and time again.
How can drawstring bags be reused?
- Shopping: It costs 10p per plastic bag in UK stores, so a reusable bag will save money every time someone shops. It folds down small enough to fit inside coat pockets and handbags when not in use and spreads the weight evenly between the shoulders, meaning it’s easier shopping to carry home.
- Biking: On the topic of evenly distributed weight, these are great for cyclists because it means that they aren’t overbalanced with bags on their handlebars. It also leaves both hands free to indicate. To be honest, this could be the most important entry on the list for that reason.
- Lunch: If you’re going on a picnic or just bringing lunch to work, drawstring bags make it easy to carry food without your sandwich getting squashed under your purse or your apple getting forgotten at the bottom of a big bag. If you have kids, you can even pack their lunch in here, so their juice bottle won’t leak all over their school books.
- Shoes: The British weather has left many people stuck in an unexpected downpour with soaked shoes. Keeping a spare pair in a bag at work or your car will mean you aren’t stuck in soggy shoes for too long. Also, you can keep a pair of driving shoes in your car for days when you’d be wearing heels or flip-flops.
- Exercise: Whether you hit the gym, the pool, or do a Zumba class, there’s nothing worse than realising you forgot your workout gear. A dedicated sports bag can be slung in your car or hung up near the front door the night before so that you can go straight from work. Although, do remember to empty your bag when you get home.
- Toiletries: This is a great way to stop shampoo or (much worse) body lotion from leaking all over your clothes in a suitcase. Alternatively, you can keep any travel-size bottles and your spare hairbrush in there year-round, so you never have to look for them when you’re going away.
- Laundry: If you’re not taking liquids in your suitcase, a drawstring bag will separate your dirty and clean clothes. Even if you think that all your clothes will need washing, you can put anything that is especially dirty or wet in the bag to stop the rest of the clothes from being covered in mud or getting a musty smell from the still-damp swimwear.
- Rubbish: Importantly, do not throw the bag in the bin. Instead, hang it on the back of your car’s headrest and have your kids put their rubbish in there, rather than all over the floor. It’s easy to empty and clean the bag without having to touch anything gross. That’s a parenting hack we can all get behind.
These are just a few of the many things that you can use the versatile drawstring bag for, but you can probably think of hundreds more. The only limit is your imagination.
