Today marks a special milestone: 13 years since we first flipped the switch and launched LoveBelfast. Thirteen years of stories, voices, celebrations, and of course, YOU — our community.
When we started back then, we had one simple aim: to shine a light on Belfast — its sports teams, its concerts, its events, its energy — and to bring our unique voice to social media, to the city’s digital conversation. What began as a passion project has grown into a respected media platform, a trusted local voice, and a proud part of Belfast’s story.
What 13 Years Has Looked Like
Over the past decade-plus we’ve:
- Covered the highs and lows of Belfast’s major sports teams — everything from ice-hockey, rugby, football and more — helping fans keep their finger on the pulse.
- Been front-and-centre at major concerts and festivals, capturing the sparkle of live music, the energy in the crowd, the magic that happens when the city comes together.
- Reported and collaborated on key events in the city — from cultural festivals, food & drink experiences, business launches, community stories, and everything in between.
- Built and nurtured strong media partnerships with agencies, PR teams, event organisers, local businesses — working together to tell Belfast’s story in an authentic way.
- Grown our social presence so that we’re not just talking at Belfast, we’re talking with Belfast — our followers, our community, our neighbours.
For instance, our Instagram handle @love_belfast pulls in tens of thousands of followers engaging daily with our content. Instagram+1 Our LinkedIn profile highlights us as a “Multi Award Winning social media magazine for Northern Ireland and beyond.” LinkedIn UK+1
