Hit TV show Vikings is once again on hunt for thousands of paid extras in Ireland with a two days of opening casting

The series is looking for people from all ethnic backgrounds for filming which begins in the Dublin and Wicklow areas in July.

roles for adults aged 17 and over, while they should live locally and have a working visa and PPS number.

Special skills are not required, but the production is after people with abilities to play colourful characters such as axe men/women, swords people, archers, musicians, magicians and jugglers.

They also want people to play fisherman, carpenters, farm workers, calligraphers, Arab speakers and midwives.

People with all types and styles of haircuts are wanted, including sporty types, martial artists, boxers, no visible tattoos, women with all lengths of naturally coloured hair, all men prepared to grow hair and beards.

The first day of open casting will be held in the The Grand Hotel, Abbey Street, Wicklow Town on Wednesday, June 27 anytime between 10am and 5.30pm.

The Dublin casting takes place in The Complex, 10-14 Little Mary Street, Dublin 7 on Saturday, June 30 between 9am and 5.30pm.

The process will take around 20 minutes once inside the venue and applicants will be asked to fill out an application form and a photo will be taken, candidates should have their height, chest, dress and shoe size on hand.
