It was ‘lights, camera and action’ at the recent premier of ‘Belfast’, Sir Kenneth Branagh’s latest film, and UTV’s weekly magazine programme ‘UTV Life’ was there to soak up the action.
The next programme, due to air Wednesday 10th November at 8pm, has the Belfast Film Festival firmly in focus, with host Pamela Ballantine getting access to the stars of the film, from the red carpet at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall.
She chats to Jamie Dornan, Ciaran Hinds, Caitriona Balfe, and young actor Jude Hill, tipped for Oscar nomination, as well as the creator of the film, Sir Kenneth Branagh.
The premier is the highlight of an action-packed Belfast Film Festival running this year from 4th-13th November. And away from the red carpet, at Belfast’s iconic Strand Cinema, UTV’s reporter Rita Fitzgerald, and film critic and regular contributor to UTV Life, Brian Henry Martin caught up with other filmmakers and actors who are taking part in this year’s Belfast Film Festival.
Rita chats to Belfast Film Festival Director of Programming, Stephen Hackett, about this year’s events, and the amazing film scene in Belfast and beyond.
Documentary filmmaker Alison Millar, will be talking to Rita about her latest film, ‘Lyra’, about the life and work of journalist Lyra McKee. Brian spends time with director Damian McCann, who describes the inspiration behind Irish language film ‘Doineann’. We also meet writer and director Stacey Gregg and get a preview of her film, ‘Here Before’, with actor Lewis McAskie, who was also in Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast.
Join Pamela and the team for this jam packed ‘UTV Life’ film special on UTV on Wednesday 10th November at 8pm.
