We’ve built strong relationships with partner organisations in Ireland and the UK, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. We were one of only four UK circuses chosen to perform at the Avignon Festival and Tumble Circus won the highly prestigious Best Circus and Physical Theatre Show with This is What We Do For a Living at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2012. Since 2016 we have graced Writers Square, Belfast with our Winter Circus Big Top. In 2021 we’re looking forward to welcoming audiences in real life once more.

During the pandemic days we took time to think and plan. We experimented with circus on film, and brought small scale socially distanced shows to people living in isolation. We also conceived our newest show Cycle Circus, a sustainable adventure responsive to Covid-19 regulations. This summer Cycle Circus entertained 7,000 people throughout the island of Ireland.

Other regular strands of work are: Ongoing collaboration with many Social Circus companies; teaching, training and devising work with youth circus and community groups; and delivering workshops to diverse and varied participants. Tumble Circus also performs for corporate, private and commercial events.

Our business model combines earned income and public funding from the Arts Councils of Northern Ireland and Ireland, the Department for Communities, Belfast City Council and Culture Ireland.

Circus requires a dedication to training and constant learning. At Tumble Circus we focus on skills, innovation, and pushing the boundaries of human possibility.
