CYCLING: Criterium, SEAT Super Series 7

The recently formed Titanic Quarter Cycling Club will host its first-ever event on August 3 in the Titanic Quarter – an all-action Criterium beside the world famous Titanic slipway.

Part of the SEAT Super 7 Criterium, the penultimate event in the series will see riders from all over Ireland gather for the fast-paced laps perfectly suited for A4 category riders and A1/2/3/J riders in a second race.

The youthful Titanic Quarter CC won its first honours in the inaugural Gran Fondo in June; taking the team title in the 58km race while club member Pamela Ayre was the first female winner in the same race.

Phil Corr, TQCC Chairman, said: “It’s exciting for the club to be hosting the Seat Super 7 Series Criterium in this our first year as a member of Cycling Ireland.

“This is a fast, gripping and exciting event and we would encourage the local community to come out and experience it because in the near future Criterium races will be big attractions in Belfast.”
