Stormont Estate was a sea of colour and community spirit as thousands of families gathered for Autism NI’s annual Glow Walk. The event, now in its eighth year, saw the iconic Prince of Wales Avenue illuminated by neon lights, glowing accessories, and the energy of a crowd united in celebration and support of autistic people across Northern Ireland.
The Glow Walk has become a signature fundraising event for the local autism charity, with this year seeing its biggest attendance to date. Entertainment on the night was led by the U105 crew and radio presenter Denise Watson, and a dance warm-up led by the ever-popular Fitness Freddy, and Junior Eurovision Finalist Isla taking to the stage. Families also enjoyed meet-and-greets with superhero characters before setting off on the magical ‘glow in the dark’ walk.

Autism NI CEO, Kerry Boyd, expressed her gratitude and pride in the event’s continued success: “It was truly heartwarming to see so many families come together for our seventh Glow Walk. The enthusiasm was incredible, everyone embraced the glow theme with vibrant neon outfits and glow sticks, creating a truly unforgettable atmosphere. It’s a testament to the strength and spirit of our community. This event not only shines a bright light on autism awareness but also raises essential funds and it reminds us of the importance of understanding, acceptance, and support for autistic individuals.
She added, “Fundraising events like the Glow Walk are vital to the work Autism NI does. Every pound raised helps us provide life-changing services, including our Helpline, which supports over 7,000 individuals across Northern Ireland each year. We are so grateful to everyone who participated, donated, and helped make this event such a glowing success.”
Autism NI is the leading autism charity in Northern Ireland, supporting over 35,000 autistic individuals and their families.
