The Coronas are one of Ireland’s biggest and best loved rock bands and make a welcome return to Belfast on Sunday 20thDecember.
The Coronas hurtled into 2015 with a sold out show at the 14,000 capacity Dublin 3 Arena. It was a homecoming show of sorts since the band moved to London little over a year ago. With 3 double platinum albums on their own indie label in Ireland under their belts, the band was quickly snapped up by Island Records and signed a publishing deal with Big Life.
In 2014 The Coronas – whose support tours include Sir Paul McCartney, The Script, Justin Timberlake and Pink – played 3 sold-out headline shows in London, Glasgow and Manchester and then saw them embark on a full UK tour the culminated in a sold-out show at London’s Koko.
This summer they have played Dot to Dot, T in the Park, the V Festival and Belsonic in Belfast.
They have recently confirmed their biggest headline show at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on 13th November and following that are about to set out on second headline tour across the UK.
The Coronas return to Belfast on Sunday 20th December.
The bands journey began when childhood best friends Danny (the son of Irish folk legend Mary Black) and bassist Graham Knox formed a band at school with Conor. They played their first gig aged 15. By the time they reached university, they had recruited Dave and had called themselves The Coronas. The last eight years has seen them establish themselves as one of Ireland’s best-loved bands and sell out Ireland’s biggest venues.
