Shortcross, has signed an exclusive deal with Tesco Northern Ireland – just in time to give shoppers some much needed ‘ginspiration’ for Christmas gifting.
The new partnership means customers will see Shortcross Gin, from the Rademon Estate Distillery, Crossgar, on the shelves in Tesco across NI, making it easier than ever to make sure the drinks cabinet is adequately stocked with this local gin favourite.
The listing signifies a demand from Northern Irish customer for high quality, locally made produce and specifically premium craft gins – a local love affair that is showing no signs of abating.
Sales of local gin account for 5% of all spirit sales locally at Tesco Northern Ireland – and this number is steadily growing. Shortcross brings the total of local gins on Tesco shelves to three, in the good company of Jawbox and Belfast Cask Gin.
Jonathan McWhinney, Packaged Food Buyer for Tesco Northern Ireland, said: “As the only multiple retailer lucky enough to be stocking Shortcross Gin, we are well placed to give customers what they want – this Christmas and beyond – which is locally made produce – and specifically, premium craft gin.
“Shortcross is the latest local gin to add to our growing collection and it really completes the family of NI gins available now in store.”
David Boyd-Armstrong of Shortcross Gin, said: “This partnership with Tesco allows us to raise awareness of the Shortcross brand to the maximum number of customers across Northern Ireland. We’re delighted with the impact we’ve made as a result of the quality of our process and product and this listing with Tesco will allow us to reach more Shortcross advocates and introduce even more people across the province to the brand.
