Seven people across Northern Ireland have won a Big Cheese award with Tayto this year.
The Big Cheese winner in Belfast is Cathy Wade who was nominated by her sister Terri Walker for her contribution to the local community throughout Covid.
The Big Cheese Awards were developed by Tayto to help shout about the champions of Northern Ireland and give them the recognition they deserve for being a shining star and supporting so many others throughout a difficult year.
The Big Cheese Awards by Tayto were designed to show appreciation for local superheroes in the community, who have unselfishly supported others throughout a very difficult year. The last fifteen months have been challenging for everyone and during this time some people have stepped up to the mark and for their family, friends and neighbours and this should be celebrated, Tayto believes.
When nominating Cathy, Terri said: “I have seen first-hand all my life how wonderful Cathy is, she is so bubbly and friendly to everyone she meets. Cathy is a fantastic nurse who is so caring for her patients both in hospital and at home whilst working at The Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.”
“Working all through the pandemic, Cathy often covered shifts for colleagues with children and those who caught Covid. She looked after our recently widowed daddy, did shopping for various family members, left doorstep treats for her nieces and nephews and regularly arranged video calls so no one felt isolated. Cathy is always looking out for others and has benefitted the whole community by always going the extra mile. Everyone is so grateful for Cathy and she often receives letters to work thanking her for her care and kindness” Clare continued.
