Children from Jolly Pirates Pre-School in Lisburn are getting ‘egg-cited’ ahead of Lisburn and Castlereagh City Councils’ Superhero Easter ‘Eggs-travaganza’. Lisburn City Centre is set to welcome an army of superheroes, as part of its Easter festivities running from Wednesday 23rd until Saturday 26th March.

Teaming up with Lisburn Cathedral and the Lisburn Linen Museum, a series of free events have been planned throughout the week leading up to Easter, with fun for all the family. Lisburn Cathedral will be hosting a range of superhero themed events from 2-4pm every day as it is transformed into a Superhero Wonderland.

A Superman party will take place from 1-3pm on Easter Saturday at the Cathedral with Superman popping along with his mates Batman, Ironman and Elsa from Disney’s Frozen. Lisburn Linen Museum will also be hosting a series of workshops onWednesday 23 and Thursday 24 March.

Children of all ages can take part in an Indiana Jones themed hunt on Easter Saturday. All they have to do is find the clues hidden in City Centre shops! All budding Indian Jones’ that complete the hunt will receive Easter treasure as well as being entered into a special prize draw.

There will be lots of exciting activities taking place in Market Square including a mini Easter Farm, face painting, Climbing Wall, Football cage, sand art, Snappysnaps photobooth and a meet and great with your favourite superheroes. Music Matters will provide a range of music with live dance acts performing on the interactive dance floor.

Chairman of Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council Economic Development Committee, Alderman Allan Ewart is looking forward to a fun day for all the family, saying: “I hope that lots of families from across Lisburn, Castlereagh and further afield come into the centre of Lisburn for the day. Walk through Castle Gardens or down into the many eateries and shops along Bow Street, Lisburn Square and Bow Street Mall, taking in everything that is going on. It should be a really enjoyable day out.”
