Tens of thousands of music fans descended on Belfast’s Boucher Road Playing Fields today as the sun shone down on the opening day ofTennent’s Vital 2014, which featured incredible live sets from global superstars The Killers, Bastille and Belfast’s very own Go Wolf.

Las Vegas rockers The Killers thrilled fans with an electric set which was packed with favourites like Somebody Told Me, All These Things That I’ve Done and Runaways before finishing with an encore of hits When You Were Young and Mr Brightside.

Frontman Brandon Flowers paid tribute to Belfast and Northern Ireland, saying: “We love coming here. We went to the Giant’s Causeway yesterday and we had a ball. So we thought maybe we should play a song from a band around here – Stroke City’s finest, here it goes.” The band then launched into a cover of Teenage Kicks by local heroes The Undertones, and later included Brown Eyed Girl by Belfast’s Van Morrison in their set in homage to the Northern Ireland crowd.
