IN JUST under two weeks’ time, the doors will open to Northern Ireland’s largest trade show – IFEX – a melting pot for all of those in the food, drink, retail and hospitality sectors over the three days (11th -13th March 2014).

Taking place at the King’s Hall Pavilion, on opening day, Tuesday 11th March, award-winning chef, Michael Deane, will be delivering a seminar for members of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and guests.

Michael will be speaking about the highs and the lows of his career to date, on doing business in Northern Ireland and on the ambitious growth plans for Deanes.

“Early in my career when I was earning my stripes, I was awarded a gold medal at IFEX, and this recognition really spurred me on – it gave me confidence in my skills and also ignited my desire to be the best.

“IFEX is an event that I look back on fondly and I’m thrilled to be returning this year to help inspire others with tales from my journey in hospitality,” comments Michael.

Also presenting at the FSB Networking Event will be Programme Managers from InterTradeIreland. Companies will hear about the financial support available from InterTradeIreland to help develop new cross border export sales opportunities.

Margaret Hearty, Director of Programmes and Business Services with IntertradeIreland said:

“Food is a key sector with a strong cross border trade history.    InterTradeIreland is committed to helping those companies through our Programmes such as Elevate and Acumen, continue to grow and hopefully take their first steps to trading into the other jurisdiction.”

Commenting ahead of the FSB Networking Event at IFEX, John Rooney, FSB Deputy National Councillor adds:

“We are delighted to be helping companies in practical ways through delivering inspirational and practical advice at seminars. We’re confident that our members and non-members who attend the networking event will undoubtedly gain from their visit.”

Many other features are taking place at IFEX including the Salon Culinaire, which will see almost 250 student and industry culinarians taking part in individual and team events, and also the prestigious Product of the Show awards.

Over 5,000 industry professionals are expected to attend IFEX to meet with almost 100 exhibitors from Northern Ireland, Ireland and further afield.

IFEX is taking place from the 11th to 13th March 2014. The event opens daily at 10am and to pre-register your attendance, please log onto www.IFEXexhibition.co.uk.

The FSB networking event, which is open to FSB members and non-members, will take place on the 11 March 2014 at 4:00pm and is free to attend. Those seeking to register should do so at www.ifexexhibition.co.uk/FSBevent
