Award-winning journalist and programme maker Simon Clemison has joined UTV as Head of News and Programmes.
Simon, who’s 43, moves to the company’s Belfast studio from East Yorkshire where he led one of the BBC’s TV regions. He was previously the senior editor of the corporation’s service in the South East, having been part of the head office team. Despite being behind the camera now, Simon originally worked on screen as a national news correspondent and presenter. He began his television career at ITV News and was a reporter at 5 News as well as Political Correspondent of ITV News Meridian.

He’s a first class journalist with a wealth of knowledge and experience in leading teams across regional news. Simon will be working very closely with the UTV team to continue to deliver high quality news and programmes for viewers in Northern Ireland.”
