RUBYBLUE POTATO VODKA AND FRESH FRUIT LIQUEURS THE PERFECT GIFT THIS CHRISTMAS

Rubyblue Vodka Christmas

When repeatedly asked to supply a gift box or bag by customers, producers Barbara & Stuart Hughes got creative! ‘What could be more fitting than a potato sack itself to put our beautiful Potato Vodka in’ they said. They started work with the design and the real challenge was to make the potato sack fit snug to the bottle so it didn’t create a hazard when on the retail shelf. It took six months to get the design right and now that they are on the shelves in select retailers such as Fortnum & Masons in London, Dublin and Belfast International Airports the only problem is keeping them in stock!

They’ve proved really popular with shoppers looking for a unique gift from Ireland or anyone who wants to treat themselves to a great Vodka!

Most vodka is made from grain, but potatoes give it a smoother, creamier flavour. RubyBlue’s version is a multi-award-winner. Made by Hughes Craft Distillery in Co. Antrim, it has won Silver and Gold medals at the New York World Wine and Spirits and the Global Vodka Masters awards.

Its creators, Stuart and Barbara Hughes wanted to produce a drink that matches gin in sophistication and depth of flavour.

It is exceptionally smooth, with an appealing nose. It is buttery, well-rounded with a heartening earthiness and a long, clean finish. It is perfect neat but it also makes a great base for cocktails.

“We found that when people taste our potato vodka they tell us that it doesn’t have the roughness expected from vodka and it’s the nicest vodka they’ve tasted. When they try, our signature serve with a dash of white lemonade, sprig of thyme, and a slice of green apple, they’re converted” says Barbara Hughes.
