It must say something when after many years of visiting Belfast’s custom house square, the Lady Boys of Bangkok can still do a four-week run here. This is my first ever visit to the big tent and already planning to return next week!

I have seen previous shows on Youtube. Their latest production, Glamorous and Amorous seems to be their best format. Gone are the gimmicks of recent years such as strongmen gymnasts – this is all about the beauties that are the Lady Boys – and the lads that join them too.
I loved this production and it has all the glitz and glamour you could ever want, with the added attraction of top-notch humour, mostly from the unsuspecting male members of the audience chosen to join them on stage.
As ever it’s a fast upbeat show from the off, with the likes of Shirley Bassey (Kiss me Honey Honey Kiss Me) and Girls Aloud (The Promise) getting our attention straight away.
The Lady Boys are, as in the title of the show, as glamorous as ever, and the comedic element provides the amorous side, to hysterical effect.
You’ll be off you seat dancing to a Saturday night fever disco, with the likes of You Should Be Dancing, Disco Inferno and Saturday Night Fever classics More Than A Woman and, of course, Night Fever.
At one point we are right in the heart of the Lady Boys’ home city as One Night in Bangkok reveals a terrific routine
Mary Poppins is quickly followed by a 50 Shades of Grey routine – only the Lady Boys could get away with something like that. My Way is back too, and always proves one of the most popular parts of any Lady Boys show, as the performer slowly wipes away the make-up to reveal what he looks like without it.
Get set for an Amarillo conga too, just one of the numerous highlights to enjoy.
A wonderful show – and don’t forget to try the cracking food too!
