Divorced. Beheaded. Live on stage — and absolutely brilliant.
The Grand Opera House was buzzing tonight as a packed Belfast audience showed up for SIX the Musical — and what a show. High-energy, fiercely fun, and unapologetically empowering, this West End smash hit delivered 80 minutes of pure pop-powered magic.
Even coming in totally fresh, not knowing what to expect, I was completely hooked. SIX reimagines the six wives of Henry VIII as modern pop icons, each stepping into the spotlight to tell their side of the story. The result? A genre-bending concert-style musical bursting with sass, history, and seriously killer vocals.
👑 Standout Queens? All of Them.
Anne Boleyn was cheeky, clever, and full of charm — but Anne of Cleves stole the show for me. Hilarious, confident, and completely owning the stage, she had the crowd in stitches. That said, each queen brought their own fire. The chemistry between the cast was electric, and the final number tied everything together with a powerful message that had the whole theatre on its feet.
💫 Costumes, Comedy & Crowd Energy
Visually, it’s a feast — think Tudor glam meets Beyoncé world tour. The costumes sparkle, the lighting pops, and the on-stage all-female band absolutely rips. The witty interplay, the crowd interaction, the sheer joy in the room — it all added up to something special. This isn’t just a show. It’s a vibe.
💬 A Feminist History Remix
Yes, it’s fun. Yes, it’s funny. But it’s also smart. SIX flips the script, putting the queens — not the king — centre stage. It’s a fresh, feminist take that reclaims these women’s stories with humour, heart, and high notes to spare.

⭐ Final Verdict
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Whether you’re a history nerd, a musical theatre fan, or just love a good night out, SIX delivers. No intermission, no downtime — just one high-octane hit after another. Belfast loved it, and I did too.
Go see it. Seriously. Long live the queens. 👑
