The hugely popular pony panto makes it glitzy return to the MAC for its annual Christmas off-the-wall comedy show. The talented comedy-dance-theatre company ponydance has ramped up this year’s show and will take to the stage with a live band, dancers, great costumes, bad taste, special guests and your incorrigible host ‘Leonie Pony’.
pony panto has become something of a Christmas phenomenon, suggesting that parents aren’t content to leave all the fun to the children. Now in its fifth year, the MAC has extended the run to its longest yet as the show proves to be an audience sell-out every year.
While the little ones are asleep and dreaming of Santa, mum and dad can escape to the MAC and enjoy the wild side of Christmas. Offering an ideal opportunity to escape the madness of Christmas and enter the even madder world of ponydance, you’ll be treated to a night of adult fun, laughter and an all-round great night out.
Leonie Pony, director of ponydance said, “There are still a few tickets left so get in quick. With legions of loyal fans coming back year after year to revel in the hedonistic world of pony panto, we’ll treat you to a fantastic night out filled with live music, humour, skits and lots of weird and wonderful performances, the likes of which you won’t see anywhere else.”
If you have yet to see them live at the MAC, you may previously have witnessed the ever industrious ponydance on their very own documentary on TG4 or when they performed to over ten thousand people in the Aviva Stadium. Based in Ireland and Northern Ireland, touring the world, ponydance are good looking, funny, charming and now, award-winning.
Simon Magill, Creative Director at the MAC explains, “It’s not just the children who get to have all the fun at the MAC. There’s a loyal fan base for our fabulous adult’s pony panto and it’s one of our favourite Christmas traditions at the MAC. If you haven’t been, you really should – it sells out every year! Come spend a night with the ponies and you’ll remember why Christmas can be so much fun.”
