Domino’s Donates Additional £8,000 to the NI Children’s Hospice adding to existing donations of almost £60k since September 2011
Domino’s Pizza Northern Ireland handed over a cheque for £8,000 to the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospital following a recent fundraising drive. Domino’s created an exclusive online deal “The NI Hospice Deal” and donated £1 from every deal sold to the hospice.
Receiving the donation on behalf of NI Children’s Hospice, Corporate Fundraising Manager, Ellen Hillen said “Domino’s has been supporting our charity for a number of years and we are delighted that this new initiative has proved successful in the first few months. This generous donation will enable Children’s Hospice to provide Hospice at Home, specialist nursing care to children and young people with a life-limiting illness, making a significant difference to the families we care for.”
The deal was available from eight stores across Northern Ireland; South Belfast, East Belfast, Carrickfergus, Lisburn Road, North Belfast, West Belfast, Saintfield Road and Glengormely, the hospice’s local store. “The staff were really supportive of the deal and really got behind it, telling people about it and encouraging them to donate while they eat,” comments Christine Murphy from Domino’s Pizza. She continues “We were delighted with the success of the funds raised and have decided to keep the deal on the menu to continue raising money this way. We’re planning some other activity and look forward to raising even more money for the hospice in 2016.”
The current NI Children’s Hospice Deal includes any large pizza, garlic pizza bread, twisted dough balls and cookies for only £18.99 and Domino’s will donate £1 to the NI Hospice. Domino’s via Pennies began supporting the NI Hospice in September 2011 and since then £59,097.48 has been raised, in addition to this £8,000. Over the past six months an average of 8,000 donations have been made in NI every month via Pennies. Donations come through on a regular basis, anytime anyone in NI makes a purchase via Domino’s website or apps they are offered the chance to round up their total to the nearest pound and this is donated to the NI Hospice.
Domino’s is delighted to announce that the NI Children’s Hospice will be launching across all stores in Northern Ireland from Monday, 25th January. In addition to South Belfast, East Belfast, Carrickfergus, Lisburn Road, North Belfast, West Belfast, Saintfield Road and Glengormely, the stores at Antrim, Armagh, Ballyclare, Ballymena, Banbridge, Bangor, Coleraine, Cityside and Waterside at Derry-Londonderry, Larne, Lurgan, Newry, Newtownards and Omagh will all add the NI Children’s Hospice deal to their online menus on dominos.co.uk and donate £1 from every deal sold to the Hospice.
Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice is a local charity providing specialist nursing care for 300 local children and young people with a life-limiting or terminal illness.
