IT’S the most wonderful time of the year and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) is encouraging everyone to make the most of Christmas this year with the launch of a new online campaign.
Whether you are getting into the festive spirit at the Christmas Market in Belfast or Derry~Londonderry, donning your favourite Christmas jumper or enjoying a festive short break with your family or friends at one of Northern Ireland’s destinations, NITB wants to see your pictures.
Aimed at encouraging people to make the most of Christmas and to get out and about in the run-up to the holidays, the campaign entitled #makethemostofChristmas will see various challenges being posted online until December 24.
Users will be asked to share images or video footage of a themed, special festive moment, and by including the hashtag #makethemostofChristmas or sharing on the Discover Northern Ireland Facebook wall, they will be in with the chance of winning a range of fantastic prizes including gift vouchers, family passes, surfing lessons and an overnight break in Northern Ireland.
NITB’s Social and Digital Marketing Manager, Paul Coleman, is encouraging everyone to take part in the festive excitement and make the most of Christmas.
“The campaign is all about having some fun in the run up to the Christmas holidays and giving people the chance to win some really fantastic prizes,” said Paul.
“We are asking people to make the most of this time of year and to share their experience with us online, which will then also help inspire others to do the same,”
“Whether people are having a family visit to Santa, watching carol singers, taking a ‘selfie’ at one of Northern Ireland’s well-known attractions or taking a picture of their house decorated for the festive season, we want to see your fun photos or videos,” he said.
“All you have to do is keep an eye on our social media pages and simply get in on the action and share your pictures with us. We will be combining everyone’s moments into one video at the end of the campaign so people can watch to see if they spot themselves.
“The competition is open to anyone and it doesn’t matter if you take the photo or video on your digital camera or mobile phone, it’s all about capturing special festive moments and enjoying new experiences,” he added.
To take part in the campaign, people are asked to visit http://www.discovernorthernireland.com/makethemostofchristmas and include #makethemostofChristmas when posting their Christmas moments on Twitter or Instagram to be in with a chance to win daily prizes and an overall short break prize.
