NI bakers call on public to #LoveYourLoaf
A number of NI bakers were joined by Belfast Met Bakery School students and aspiring little bakers to kick off National Bread Week, which runs from 9th – 15th October throughout NI and ROI.
Organised by the FCBA (Flour Confectioners and Bakers Association) in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Bakery Council, the bread industry is calling on the public to #LoveYourLoaf and celebrate all that is great about our favourite food! The week-long celebration of Irish bread is being supported by a panel of experts; General Practitioner, TV, Radio Broadcaster and Columnist Dr Ciara Kelly, TV Broadcaster, Cook and Columnist, Yvonne Connolly and Registered Dietitian Dr Mary McCreery. Together, they will highlight the heritage, value and versatility of bread, while dispelling some of the widespread myths that surround it, reminding the nation of bread’s part in Irish culture and history.
