Belfast Lord Mayor, Councillor Máirtín Ó Muilleoir, said today that he believes Belfast is increasingly becoming recognised as one of the key centres in Europe for US companies to base and expand their business.
He was speaking on his return to Belfast following the first ever Belfast Tech Mission’s visit to Silicon Valley in California which provided 20 local companies the chance to showcase new technologies and products being developed to West Coast leading companies, investors and venture capitalists.

The Lord Mayor said: “Concentrix is a Global Business Services company with a presence in Asia, Europe, Latin American and Canada, as well as USA, and deals with customers in over 33 languages and currently employ more than 1,000 people in Belfast.

“Mr Caldwell expressed his delight at the quality of the workforce available in Belfast and said the company would consider further investment sometime in the future given the positive experience they have had in the city.
“And that attitude is a fair reflection of what we heard throughout the mission. The companies who we took out all made a huge impression and made some very important connections and contacts.”
Mr Caldwell said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the Lord Mayor to our California Head Quarters. We are honoured to be included in his tour of the west coast, which is a great celebration of innovation and helps further raise the profile of Belfast to boost growth in the new technologies space.”
