International sportswear company Kukri will reopen a temporary shop in Victoria Square Shopping Centre, Belfast on Wednesday 14th October. After the success of the store last year, Kukri will open a retail unit for a second time in Belfast City Centre. The shop will offer official Ulster Rugby and Belfast Giants merchandise and will also offer ideal city centre location for fans to get their Christmas gifts.
General Manager and Director of Kukri Sports Ireland, Terry Jackson, said: “We’re really excited to be back in Victoria Square. Last year was a real success for us and we’re delighted to be back in the thriving shopping centre for a second year. It will be great to offer Ulster Rugby and Belfast Giants merchandise in the heart of the City Centre, so even more people than ever can show their support for the teams.”
The Kukri store will be open from October 2014 through to January 2015 and it will be officially launched at an event on Wednesday 21st October from 7pm-8pm. The launch event will have Ulster Rugby players in attendance who will take part in an informal question and answer session with Adrian Logan, while Ulster Rugby mascot Sparky will also be on hand to meet, greet and entertain young Ulstermen. During half-term week (w/c 27th October) the shop will host a signing session with several Belfast Giants players – this will take place on Thursday 29th October, from 7-8pm. There will also be a fantastic opportunity to meet the Ulster players returning from the Rugby World Cup and to hear all about their experience on Thursday 5th November, 7-8pm.
As well as the store in Victoria Square, Kukri will continue their retail operations at the Kingspan Stadium and The SSE Arena (match night only). “This store will sit alongside our retail operations at the Kingspan Stadium and The SSE Arena so fans of Ulster and the Giants will have plenty of opportunity to buy merchandise,” continues Terry Jackson.
Home to over 70 stores, Victoria Square is Belfast’s number one shopping destination. It’s located in the South Quarter of Belfast City Centre, with 800,000ft2 of retail space over four floors. The Kukri Store will be located on the Upper Ground near the exit to Anne Street – this is in the exact same location for anyone who visited the Kukri store last year.
