A book is an often-spotted companion for commuters hopping on board buses and trains on the way to and from work, but usually it hasn’t been plucked from a bookshelf at the bus stop.

Today and over the coming weeks, along key commuter routes into Belfast, Translink customers can browse bookcases that have been placed in Park and Ride sites and in stations to celebrate the launch of Ulsterbus Urby, the new interurban bus service for Greater Belfast and beyond.

The bookcase spotted at Sprucefield Park and Ride this morning, will move location throughout the month of November, offering bookworms hundreds of books to choose from. Commuters are invited to make the smart move and enjoy some ‘me time’ on board by simply swapping one of their own books or making a small donation, with money raised going to Cancer Focus NI.

Urby customers can enjoy the highest levels of passenger comfort on board new state-of-the-art buses with features including leather seats with more space; USB charging points and free WiFi.
