Code creators and change makers – #HacktheHub is back, bigger and better for 2018!

#HacktheHub is delighted to welcome Bazaarvoice as its main partner for this spring’s hackathon in Belfast.

With a prize pot of over £8,500, #HacktheHub will bring together over 200 hackers and mentors on 24th and 25th March to explore the possibilities for Machine Learning and AI, whilst upskilling the hackers and rapidly prototyping ideas.

Texas-based consumer-generated content and advertising player Bazaarvoice, who is creating 168 new jobs in Belfast and making a multimillion-pound investment in a new office in the city will be the platinum partner of #HacktheHub.

“One of the main reasons why we chose Belfast as our new R&D center of excellence was the wealth of talent. Being #HacktheHub platinum partner is a great way to support that talent by identifying and fostering innovation in Machine Learning and AI,” said Paul Hill, Senior Director – Software Engineering at Bazaarvoice. He continued, “We’re looking forward to setting some interesting challenges and seeing the resulting original and feasible solutions.”

Conor Graham, co-founder #HacktheHub said, “Our aim has always been to drive innovation by using open collaboration to upskill the best technical talent and connect them with companies that will enable them to make change happen. And so we’re really excited to have Bazaarvoice as our main partner.”

With now being largest hacker community in Ireland, working with over 30 companies, #HacktheHub has access to 1000+ developers, designers & entrepreneurs, and has successfully created £400k worth of jobs, 5 startups and new friendships. Other partners for 2018 include Boston based Rapid7 which produces a range of security software and data analytics, designed to help cut down and speed up work for a host of IT firms, Flexera the world’s largest technology asset data platform, Aepona, an Accelerite company, AV Browne, Slice Life and Barclay’s Eagle Lab.
