Stormont Estate will be glowing brightly on Saturday 4th November as Autism NI holds their sixth consecutive Glow Walk event. The Charity is encouraging local families to get their glow sticks ready, put on their walking shoes, and light up the night for Northern Ireland’s local autism community.
Autism NI CEO, Kerry Boyd said: “We are really excited to be bringing back our Glow Walk event again this year. This is a family favourite event that we have been holding for years and we look forward to welcoming our vibrant supporters and families as they light up the night.
Our local families will enjoy a fun evening, as Fitness Freddy will be warming up the crowd with his famous dance routines and the U105 crew will be there to keep us entertained. It is free to sign up and we hope that people across the city will join us in supporting this special event, as it aims to shine a bright light on autism within the local community.”
Parent Helen Clarke said: “Autism NI has been a lifeline for our family, especially before Milo was diagnosed. They helped us so much. Two other mums and I also started up our Autism NI Banbridge Support Group a couple of years ago to support others. Taking part in the Glow Walk and fundraising for Autism NI is essential as it helps provide much needed services for our autism community.”
The Glow Walk event will begin at 6.00pm at Stormont Estate main entrance gates and we are asking local families to support the charity by taking part and pledging to raise £75 per family. All funds raised from the Glow Walk will support Autism NI’s vital Helpline service which is invaluable to local families, autistic people and professionals and takes over 7,500 calls every year.
Sign up for the Glow Walk and you’ll be supporting a very worthy cause while having lots of fun. Whether you walk alone or walk with family or friends, this will be a fun evening for all ages and a chance to light up the city, and glow bright for autism.
