Experience the grandeur and spectacle of the musical based on the story of Anna Leonowens – the English tutor employed by the King to teach his children in a foreign land. With a world-class company of over 50 West End and Broadway performers, backed by a full orchestra the production is brought to life by an acclaimed creative team led by Tony Award-winning director Bartlett Sher. There is also many young performers in this production that are so charming.

Annalene Beechey sings delightfully with such songs as “Whistle a Happy Tune” and “Getting to Know You”, but this is very much a foreign country with different customs and she is determined to gain her promised house and protect her young son Louis (Charlie Maguire).
As Anna introduces English customs to Siam, she faces resistance from the headstrong King Mongkut, portrayed powerfully by Darren Lee who clings to tradition insisting on his subjects and family kowtowing to him when in his presence but he is also aware of the need to modernise his country, “etc etc etc.”

The arrival of Sir Edward Ramsay (Sam Jenkins Shaw) prompts the extravagant and splendid ballet “The Small House of Uncle Thomas” to prove that Siam can equal the artistry of the British, and the triumphant “Shall We Dance”, when Anna teaches the King to dance, is a sheer joy to watch.
The musical features delightful song performances by Annalene Beechey, Marienella Phillips, and Dean John-Wilson, as well as a stunning ballet sequences

This is your chance to experience one of those magical evenings that leaves you with a warm glow. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to catch the musical on tour in Belfast until June 24th and then in Dublin. With sterling support from the cast, this production is sure to be a hit!
