Belfast-based Enoksen Watch Company has been appointed official timekeeper for the most prestigious international tennis tournament in Scandinavia, the Nordea Open, formerly known as the Swedish Open. The three-year contract will see Enoksen feature as the tournament’s official timekeeper for all matches until 2024 played on clay courts in the scenic coastal resort of Båstad (pronounced Barstat!).
The tournament is to run from the 5th to 21st of July this summer, covid restrictions allowing.
Company founder Hans Enoksen, a keen tennis player himself, says the appointment is a game changer for the brand.
“This is a shot in the arm for us and for Belfast! We have always underlined the utilitarian and durable quality and style of our sports watches and to be catapulted into the world of international tennis and the Nordea Open whose former winners have included Bjorn Borg, Mats Wilander and Rafa Nadal, is great news for us and the ultimate expression of confidence in our watches,” says Mr Enoksen.
Title sponsor Nordea is the largest bank in Scandinavia. Partner sponsors include Emirates airline and Mercedes-Benz. Enoksen watches use the Seiko workhorse mechanical movement, the AH35A, renowned for its durability and accuracy. The Enoksen range includes specialist deep dive pieces and tennis watches.
Earlier this month Hans Enoksen secured his first retail partnership with CW Sellors, a specialist jewellery and watches retail chain with 18 shops in England. The Enoksen range is available on www.enoksenwatches.com.
